Sport & Spa Hotel Strass

The Sport Hotel Strass has been the most amazing experience of my life! First, the hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous. The rooms have been designed beautifully and with so much thought. They are spacious. The bed and pillows are so comfortable. Everything is clean and updated. The closets offer so much space. I also recommend visiting the spa as it was the best spa experience I’ve ever had. Just amazing! Second is the staff. The entire staff was was so sweet, so helpful, and so friendly. They all spoke English so it was really easy to effectively communicate with all of them. They were always on top of everything and I enjoyed all my interactions with them! Third, the food. The hotel food was incredible and consistent. I looked forward to breakfast each morning and it was incredibly convenient to have so many options for food in hotel. I also appreciated how early and late in the day that there were food options available in the hotel. Lastly, Mayrhofen (the village). I fell in love with everything in Mayrhofen. The people, the restaurants, the coffee shops, the shopping, the mountains, the views. Every place I went, I was in awe. It’s so peaceful and quiet but also breathtaking. I would recommend the Strass hotel to anyone who’s looking for an amazing hotel experience, with great food, the friendliest staff, a beautiful spa, and the best hotel location in Mayrhofen.

Currently staying at Hotel Strass with my family and young kids. We've been staying here for many, many years and could not love it here more. We've actually just extended our trip by an extra 4 days as we couldn't bare to leave. For adults the spa facilities, bar and food are fantastic. For those travelling with young children it couldn't be better equipped. There's a fantastic back garden with play area, an amazing swimming pool, loads of high chairs, cots and everything is accessible for prams. All of the staff seem to adore kids and have been so incredibly accommodating and helpful. Our babies absolutely love it here and are remembered by name by the team here year on year. Our 4 year old asks all year round when we're going back. Its huge, has great facilities, is always spotless and has great food and drinks. It's also the closest hotel to the main ski lift. The new addition of Pat's pizza place is fantastic - our 4 year old was even invited into the kitchen to make his own pizza. We couldn't thank Erich, Manuel, Stocky, Harald, Pat & all of the rest of the team here more for making everything so special and easy every time we stay. Highly recommend.

We stayed here as part of a skiing package with Crystal. The hotel is in a great central location, very short walk to the lift that you need to get up to the local skiing area. Staff at the reception desk were always helpful. Our room was a good size, with enough wardrobe and shelf space for 2 people. The two single beds were not the "Austrian twin" type that I recall from previous skiing holidays in Austria, they were on opposite sides of the room. They were moderately comfortable, nothing more. The shower cubicle was a bit too small to enjoy a comfortable shower, but the shower itself was very good (plenty of hot water at a good flow rate). Our room (including the shower room) was served by underfloor heating, which kept the room very warm, but it could not be controlled either from within the room or via some centralised control unit (I asked about this at reception). We thought the food was good; it's not fine dining, but it was tasty and plentiful. There was a wide choice at breakfast, numerous starter options were available for dinner, there was a choice of main course (always with one vegetarian option), but only one desert option. There were only a couple of items that we didn't like throughout the whole week. Table service was very professional. Bottom line . . . I would be very happy to stay here again.
