Sportshotel Vejen

Hotel had everything what we needed for one night stay. Rooms are equiped very simple, but clean and quiet. I appreciate a coffee zone, where you can get coffee or tea all day long. Breakfast was really nice, good choice of fruit and veggies, fresh bread, pancakes...

We paid 850 krone for a room via Booking.com. We brought our dog - 'charges may be applicable' - but this cost an additional 400 krone (though no bed and no breakfast for Mutto). The room charge was non-refundable so we didn't have much choice. It should have been clearer. There was no facility to pay by card in the bar so if you didn't have cash or (Danish) Mobilpay you had to charge to your room. Meanwhile, in the next room, there was an enormous Christmas party which, though intrusive, would have been fine if we hadn't already been irritated. We came to Vejen to do the parkrun at 0900 on Saturday but the hotel breakfast finished at 0930 and checkout was 1000. So no breakfast and scant time for shower.

I would like to file a complaint about our booking at Sportshotel Vejen via booking.com. During our night, an employee tried to enter our room with his key while we were sleeping. Fortunately, we had the padlock on, so he could not get in completely. We woke up because of this and immediately asked who was trying to get in and why. No answer. After this, I quickly changed clothes and looked around the corner, where I saw the employee quickly walk away. The hotel room was already no fun, because it was dirty and many things were broken, but the attempted burglary was the final straw. We left immediately after this and left the key at the reception (where no one was). I am extremely angry about how this hotel stay went and we also missed breakfast in the morning because of this. Apologies and a refund of the hotel stay would be very appropriate.
