For anyone wanting a quiet, no frills, holiday, and to visit Dublin, this is a fantastic hotel, with a great location. The whole ethos is very much that of a small friendly family hotel, with great staff who go the extra mile to provide superb service. This is ostensibly a three star hotel, however I genuinely do not feel that rating does it full justice. In terms of quality of service alone, I would award it at least 4 stars, and we are people who often stay in five star establishments, which have been far less pleasing than this place. For our stay, which started just after the UK early May bank holiday, we booked the two night taster package, which includes two breakfasts and one evening meal. The food was delightful, I sampled the Irish beef, which was as good a pub roast as I have ever had. The breakfasts were generous and freshly cooked, and the hotel provided us (at a small extra cost) with an excellent packed lunch for the day when we ventured into Dublin. Traveling into the city is made super easy, by the fact that there is a fast bus which stops right outside the hotel and takes one to the end of O'Connell Street, in the heart of the tourist area of the city. For the second evening, when we did not have an inclusive meal, we walked a very short distance to a local pub, which is a tourist attraction in it's own right, being the pub that was managed by Arthur Guinness before he founded his brewery. The rooms in the hotel a comfortable and quiet. They provide all the facilities anyone could expect. There is also a lift for access to the upper floors, should you need it. Someone being a ridiculous perfectionist might note a few spots where the carpet in public areas is probably due for replacement, and few other very minor matters, but really these are trivial issues, and the overall impression is one of genuine comfort and a warm welcome. We have already made the firm decision to visit again at some point during the next twelve months, from which you can gather that I am giving this establishment my very highest recommendation. Put simply, if you want a great hotel in this location, don't hesitate, just book it. Unless you are someone who goes around looking for problems to be upset about, you should have a great stay.

Thursday drop in for a carvery lunch. Very busy and had a good age range of families with Turkey ham cottage pie and more to fill your plate. Good deal for people who get a free tea and coffee for oaps or free desert when presented with a card at the til.

𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐇𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥 I recently visited the Springfield Hotel and was very disappointed with how we were treated. We requested a simple menu change - a Caesar salad with tuna instead of chicken. Since tuna was already on the menu in other dishes, we assumed this would be a straightforward swap. However, the staff refused to accommodate the request. When I asked to speak to the manager, Ciaran (I believe that’s how it’s spelled - he mentioned he was from South Africa), I explained the situation politely and asked if the change could be made. His response was passive-aggressive and dismissive, which I found quite surprising. I mentioned that I review hotels and restaurants regularly and value good Irish hospitality. I wasn’t trying to make an issue, but simply wanted to express that the interaction didn’t feel welcoming. Unfortunately, the attitude I received made the experience uncomfortable and left a very poor impression. Based on this, I wouldn’t recommend the Springfield Hotel. It’s a shame, as good service goes a long way - and sadly, that was missing here.
