Square Design Hotel

We booked a room at this hotel, with a queen bed, for our honeymoon. When we got there and checked in, they at first told us we showed up a day late, which obviously we had proof to show the dates we scheduled. Then they informed us they only have a room with 2 single beds. Every night we had to push the single beds together so we could sleep together like a married couple. It wasn’t awful at the time because we were so happy to be married and on our honeymoon, but honestly, thinking about it now, it was pretty crappy. Also, the bathroom was kinda gross with little black flies and mold. However, the worst part is that we booked a massage through the hotel spa and we felt we were being scammed by them. First off, the massage wasn’t the best I’d ever had. But then at check out, there was confusion on what we owed. We gave them money and then they gave us some back. We gave money for the tip and left. The next day we get a note to visit the spa for a discrepancy with payment. The manager showed us the video and you could see us giving the money and them giving some back to us. However, even if they charged us incorrectly, they could have taken money from the generous tip we left since this was not our fault. We informed them that we paid properly and that we weren’t giving them more money. At check out from the hotel, the concierge asked us about the discrepancy with the spa and we informed them that we already spoke with them and that it was already taken care of and then we left. It just didn’t sit right with me.

The staff , Ruan Silva - at the front was rude and disrespectful. Watch out, they have hidden cameras everywhere. 1. It was very noisy whole night, since it is on the main road - 2. Fraud with incorrect information about reservation in English, they will argue and fight why you reservation is in Portuguese. 3. My phone detected hidden cameras in bathroom lights. We booked the hotel from their site way in advance and they said our hotel rooms are non refundable. In case if you wanted to leave one day early check out, they won’t refund. They are fraud and don’t trust them.

This is so far one of the worst hotel I’ve ever been. The bathtub stink like a sew, the mattress is dirty and no cover, the food was terrible, cold and expensive. If you want to pay 100 reais for this breakfast, it’s the perfect place.
