Sretenskaya Hotel

This hotel was booked for me by my local office as as it is just a short walk away. The location is great with lots of restaurants and bars around. It's also a good price and the staff are very friendly. But it desperately needs refurbishing and had a long list of "problems" that made my 4 night stay not enjoyable. It's noisy - with sounds from inside and outside coming into the room easily. Toilets use macerators so every flush from a neighbour is incredibly noisy. Bathroom shower cubicle very old and the bathroom was just not nice with gaffer tape wrapped around pipes. Bed has no headboard - I don't want to sit in bed with my back directly on a cold painted wall. One night I couldn't sleep until 3am as a nightclub(?) nearby was so loud that that the room was full of dance music. Curtains are 10cm shorter than they should be so room is full of light from the street lights. Didn't eat dinner here but the breakfast wasn't good quality. So, great location with friendly staff and not expensive (especially considering the location) but desperately needs refurbishment.

e it was good). There were some thechnical issues with ventilation and take into account that most of the rooms face an indoor yard, so you don't get any air if you open them. One night there was a wedding Wich you could hear all the way to the 3 floor, so our room was literally shaking. The next day it was a quieter party, but still I could feel the floor moving (as it turns out, our room was right above the hall were the party took place). This is the reason I would not recommend the hotel. The manager of the hotel was really nice and we were compinsaited, but make sure you book a quiet room!

Be careful! Money disappeared from the room in the Sretenskaya hotel in broad daylight. No investigation by the hotel management, nothing. The feeling that the administration is not afraid to tarnish its reputation, and even more so does not care about the opinion of the guests. Blatant negligence and disrespect for guests. The rooms are old and require complete renovation. The only advantage of the hotel is the winter garden on the ground floor.
