First of all, this is not a typical 4-star hotel, it is an old government building converted into a hotel, so keep expectations accordingly. I stayed here last week for two days. Though the building and rooms are old-style, cleanliness was fine and satisfactory. Bathroom had only basic items like soap and dental kit, but that was okay. Room service was good, and laundry was surprisingly affordable. Breakfast was nice, mostly South Indian items along with a few regular options. Overall, my stay was pleasant. The best part is the location, far from the city crowd, very calm and peaceful, with a good area for walking around.
Had a great stay at SRM Hotel, Trichy. The service was excellent, and the amenities were well-maintained. I especially appreciated the complimentary breakfast buffet — good variety and taste. They were also kind enough to accommodate a late checkout request, which made the experience even more comfortable. Would definitely recommend!
I stayed for three nights at SRM Hotel Trichy and overall, I would give it an average rating. Frankly, the experience did not justify the money spent, especially when it comes to room quality and maintenance. ✅ What I Liked Buffet Breakfast: One of the highlights of the stay. The spread was excellent, with a variety of delicious items that were well-prepared and satisfying. Front Office Staff: Very polite, professional, and courteous. Their attitude made a good impression at check-in and throughout the stay. Amenities: The swimming pool was well-maintained, with separate areas for adults and kids. Table tennis facilities were available, adding a recreational touch. Spa services were advertised, though I didn’t use them and can’t comment on their quality. Bar Staff: Despite the overall bar experience being underwhelming, Mr. Shankar and Mr. Kumar from the bar team were professional and courteous. ❌ What Needs Serious Improvement Room Maintenance: Extremely poor. The refrigerator in the room was not working upon arrival. It took two days and multiple follow-ups for it to be replaced. The towels provided were dirty and had a bad odor. The bedsheets had visible stains and clearly were not clean — a major letdown in terms of hygiene. Bar Experience: The bar itself was mediocre, with very limited ambiance. Prices were unreasonably high and the quality of the drinks didn’t match up to the cost. Food Pricing: The in-house restaurant is overpriced. While the food tasted fine, it was not value for money. 📝 Final Verdict This was my first experience with SRM Group hotels, and unfortunately, it was disappointing. While there are some redeeming features — like the breakfast, polite staff, and pool — the room condition and poor maintenance significantly brought down the overall experience. Recommendation: If SRM Hotel Trichy wants to meet its star rating and price point, it urgently needs to improve room hygiene, maintenance standards, and pricing strategy in its bar and restaurant.
