Been before didn't think it could be topped. Wow, the effort gone into this place shows. Quality furnishings, great breakfasts with quality sourced food and home made granola. Met Paul Answorth what a lovely gentleman He has a great team and has done an amazing job Right down to having a mini fridge sent to room to store fresh milk Everything was top notch Can't wait to return, a premium hotel and it shows. Thank you for a really 1st class visit.

Rooms are lovely, cosy and clean with an amazing view but a bit tight everything. Check in service was ok, nothing super welcoming. We had breakfast outside with a stunning view, it was delicious and the staff was great. Location is good despite the walk which we really enjoyed.

It's 10 years since we last stayed here, the are some notable charges. The welcome is warm friendly and staff very helpful, it was early in the season so we were upgraded to a estaury view which was great. Slight plumbing problem with the shower only ran running on extremely hot meaning that a change of room next day, all done for us, to an even better room, better view and larger! The brasserie restaurant is good and breakfast in superb The entrance is extremely underwhelming at the top of the hill and what most would, consider as the back of the hotel,. There are subtle touches of the new owners and there are plans afoot to give the whole place an upgrade, which is likely to put it in the 5 star ratings. We enjoyed the whole trip which was a true Paul Ainsworth experience, eating in Rock two nights (the brasserie and the Mariners) and in Padstow, at fine dining Number 6. Thank you to the staff and we look forward to returning post renovations.
