St Giles Southkey Johor Bahru

Stayed at St. Giles over the weekend with family and had a lovely experience overall. We booked the 1-Bedroom Premier and were pleasantly surprised by how spacious and comfortable it was—the kids absolutely loved the room! The view from the room was beautiful as well. Our stay included breakfast and access to the lounge, which was a nice touch. However, we do hope to see more variety in the food and beverage options in the future—it would be better if there were more choices instead of having to order from a limited menu. Hospitality was decent, though they were unable to accommodate a late check-out. Also, for anyone planning a birthday celebration, do note that they don’t provide candles or lighters—so bring your own if needed. This was our first time staying here and we definitely want to come back. Highly recommend it for families, especially given the excellent location—it’s conveniently connected to a shopping mall which makes everything so accessible.

This hotel provides a quiet and spacious room that's kept clean and neat. It's especially convenient for a short vacation thanks to its location right next to a mall. Guests can also enjoy excellent facilities, including a rooftop pool, gym, and bar. However, the bathroom is quite small, and the door's design, which swings inward, makes the space feel even more cramped. The breakfast selection is good, but it's important to get there early to beat the rush.

Check-in Process: The check-in process was acceptable — not especially fast, but handled smoothly and without issues. Room: The room was clean and of a decent size, providing a comfortable environment. That said, the bathroom could use better maintenance; there was mould around the tiles and the toilet seemed to have a tendency to choke. Internet: Wi-Fi speed was okay — suitable for browsing and general use, though it might not be ideal for high-bandwidth tasks. Sustainability: I appreciated the hotel’s commitment to sustainability. The availability of a water dispenser on the floor was a welcome touch, reducing the need for single-use plastic bottles. Parking: Car park charges are RM5 per entry, which is worth noting if you plan to drive in and out multiple times a day. Final Thoughts: St Giles @ Southkey is a solid choice for travelers who value convenience and sustainability. The location within a major mall is unbeatable, and while there’s room for improvement in bathroom maintenance, the overall stay was comfortable and practical.
