Stadsvilla Mout Rotterdam Schiedam

This was easily one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. The area itself was to me, more beautiful than Rotterdam city, the small canals with plenty restaurants and cafes nearby, and shops to grab any essentials. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind making our stay amazing. It is definitely a little bit outside the city however the transport links are so incredibly easy to use and also quite fun if your a tourist like myself, there was tram and bus stops only a 5 min walk which will get you to the city in around 25 minutes. Must be said that on our last day we enjoyed just being in the local area as it has such a charm. Would absolutely love to visit again, no complaints !

This review is a bit different because we had a situation outwith the hotels control. It’s what happened after that Could have been better. We had an ant outbreak in our room, the weather was unseasonably hot and it happens. We packed up our things and told reception, they did get us another room which was not going to be available until 12pm, the issue happened around 8am. I wasn’t ready and we essentially were roomless, so we had a little breakfast (basically for somewhere to go and have a coffee) then I had to get ready in a toilet on the ground floor, there were no plugs in the toilet so I couldn’t get my hair sorted for the day. We went out for the day returned and our new room was an upgrade which was lovely (it was the only one available) the ant room was shut off and seemingly deep cleaned which was a good response. When checking out the next morning I was a bit shocked to be charged full price for our two breakfasts, I thought considering the extenuating circumstances they’d cut us a break but hey ho we paid the near 40 euro. If this hadn’t happened the review would have been higher than it is (although I think I’m still being very fair) I would go back to the hotel, it is in a lovely location and the rooms are spotless. The breakfast isn’t great but that’s my opinion and others may say differently.

If you have kids, Don’t COME! They charged me 75 EUR extra for the 2 nights because I had two small children with me. They charged me for the SOFA that was already in the room saying that this will be considered an extra bed for one of my kids, they provided another bed for the other kid. I never add my kids in any reservations and I have never had an issue as these are small kids and it is expected that they will be with you in your room. (I always select suite and pay extra so they can fit the kids) In addition to this, the door of the bathroom doesn’t close all the way, and there is no elevator for passengers. And there is no parking by the hotel, you have to find your parking in the public streets. I do not recommend this hotel! To be fair, the room was extremely clean, and the view was extremely nice!
