We recently spent a week at Stanford Court. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location was excellent, with great hilltop views. The famous cable cars run past the hotel and you are steps away from sweeping views of the city. The hotel is very clean and our room was spacious. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the room was mostly quiet save for a little traffic noise which is to be expected. The gym was very well equipped and I welcomed the stations where you could refill your bottles and get free tea or coffee in the mornings in the lobby. My only issue was the elevators, of which only one was working during our stay. This was disappointing as we incurred long waits to get up and down from the eighth floor. However, there was clear signage about this and we saw engineers working on the two other elevators all week. Overall, I would really recommend this for anyone looking for a central hotel stay in San Francisco.
Good location, clean rooms, but be aware of parking and elevator issues The location is excellent, close to many San Francisco attractions. The room was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. However, during our 3-night stay, only one elevator was working, which led to long wait times every day. Also, be very careful with parking: the hotel charges around $150 per night after adding valet, taxes, and various destination fees. There are parking options nearby that cost three times less.
It's a nice bar; everything else is not so nice. From the squeaky often non-operational elevators to the tiny, dated rooms featuring nothing-special everywhere. The tiny single-person sink in the room is not enough for a family or otherwise a large individual. The showers have no overhead option and the curtains can reek.
