The main advantage of this hotel is its location — just steps away from the train station and within easy walking distance of the city’s main attractions and the waterfront. Built in the 1960s–70s using the modern technologies and quality materials of that era, the hotel has largely retained its original style and atmosphere. The rooms could definitely use some renovation. In my case, the air conditioner wasn't working well, and I was offered two alternative rooms — but both were in worse condition, with noticeable odors and creaky furniture. In the end, a technician came and, after turning the AC on and off five or six times, managed to get it working properly. :) Despite these issues, the hotel does make a real effort to maintain a high level of service. The breakfast was good, the beds were comfortable, and the hotel also offers several conference rooms. Overall, I recommend this hotel — with the above points in mind.
Great location next to railway station and metro. Rooms are great at least on the 10th floor (renewd with key card access). The staff is super-friendly. Breakfast is good. The only minus comes from the fact that during our stay on the only free morning with no need to wake up there was someone (renovator perhaps) starting to drill somewhere in the rooms close by, so we had to wake up earlier than otherwise.
⸻ When booking a room at this hotel, my husband was in a rush and didn’t pay attention to the room category. He simply selected the first available option. Upon arrival, we were given that category — a room that seemed to have been last renovated in the 90s, heavily smoked in, with no soundproofing and many other issues. I immediately returned to the reception desk to request an upgrade to a renovated room. The staff at reception claimed there were no available rooms, and I noticed them smirking among themselves in Italian, seemingly amused by the fact that I didn’t like such an outdated room. After insisting — and, of course, agreeing to pay extra — we were eventually given a renovated room. The reception staff are extremely rude! They work very slowly — check-in took almost an hour, which is absolutely unacceptable.
