Steigenberger Bad Neuenahr

Lovely hotel with a nice breakfast buffet. Our room was comfortable, however, the air conditioning is centrally controlled and was turned off at night. It was quite warm for our taste, we even opened the windows, not optimal when traveling with an infant. The service was great. David, who was taking care of their pool area, was very nice to us.

Located in the Ahr Valley, this large hotel was a let down for us. The ground floor of the hotel has been renovated beautifully after the floods from 2021. But there is a lack of staff at all levels of the hotel. The ones present are trying their best to keep the hotel running but it's just not enough. Check in took forever. The check in staff were very young and looked like interns. They were friendly but the hotel is massively understaffed. The bar, busy over the few days we stayed, was manned by just one bartender. He was on his toes all night. Not fair on him. The restaurant, which was a real highlight of the hotel, has some wonderful staff but again very few staff members for how busy the hotel was. Housekeeping was shoddy. The bottle of water in our room was half empty and not new. We would prefer not to get a bottle, instead of a half consumed one from the previous occupants of our room. Rooms were not ready until 4 pm. GET MORE HOUSEKEEPING STAFF. Unless this hotel gets its staffing right, it really is pointless to pay this much money for a luxury holiday with friends and family. Because this Steigenbeger is anything but a luxurious break. The hotel is still under a lot of construction. The pool and spa area are still not fully functional.

Disappointed. The hotel is still under construction. Our room looked over building work . I did get some money off for an upgrade that I felt wasn’t displayed correctly. Obviously this area needs support after the floods but it felt expensive for what we got and no comfy outside seating. Breakfast nice and bar staff excellent .
