Steigenberger Hotel Bielefelder Hof

My husband often stays at this hotel when he travels for work and has always found his experiences very pleasant. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located next to Bielefeld Central Station. The staff is friendly and highly focused on customer service. They offer laundry service, and the breakfast is quite good, featuring local products. Additionally, there is a restaurant on-site. This hotel is an excellent choice for anyone visiting the city for business or tourism. I want to thank Ynnick at the front desk (I hope I spelled your name correctly). He answered my phone call when I requested a written message be delivered to my husband for our anniversary. Ynnick went above and beyond; my husband was pleasantly surprised to find a heartfelt message and flower petals in his room. They also prepared a special dinner for him in the hotel’s restaurant. Thank you very much, Ynnick! This reflects the high level of guest service and the quality of those working here. 🥰

Right in front of the notoriously ugly central station of Bielefeld.. Nice large rooms, very friendly staff (must have had a hard time finding them in East-Westphalia), nice little bar/restaurant with friendly personal advice for food and wine, although the choice could be bigger. Breakfast very good, with selected regional products. Relaxed atmosphere. They have even got a smoking-terrace inside ... smoking in front of the hotel indeed could lead to undesired acquaintances, though everything here is usually very calm.

Very nice hotel, up to usual Steigenberger standards. If I could give 4.5* I would, but I wanted to mention two very small problems that nonetheless shouldn't be the case in a high end hotel. First - my room had no hooks in it at all. Nowhere to hang a coat, a hat, a bag, or even the very nice robes that were in the room. I had to leave them draped over chairs, and my bags leaning on a bench. Second - no USB ports by the bed, which seems like a necessity these days. That meant I couldn't leave my laptop plugged in on the desk and my phone plugged in by the bed at the same time, I had to choose. These are tiny things, but a much cheaper hotel I stayed at in the Czech Republic got both right, so it seems reasonable to mention them. Otherwise really excellent, though, and very good service.
