Step House Hotel

I really liked this country hotel. It has a lovely cosy atmosphere and the front desk staff were welcoming. The room was spacious and comfortable. The water pressure could have been better but that’s almost part of the charm of a country hotel. We attended a wedding across the road at Borris house so the location was perfect. Breakfast the next morning was everything you would want- lovely fresh fruit to rehydrate and a lovely well cooked fry. My only feedback would be that a second sausage would have been appreciated. Also, Sunday newspapers in the lobby is a lovely touch.

Wedding Review! We recently got married and we are so incredibly happy that we chose to have our Reception and our Day 2 celebrations at the Step House. We could write a book on how amazing the whole experience was from start to finish however will summarize as best we can. The staff at the Step House were so professional and accommodating, ensuring our every need was met and also creating such a warm environment that everyone felt comfortable in. The food was so delicious all weekend, the rooms were spotless and we really cannot say one negative thing. All of our friends and family are still complimenting the Step House hotel and staff, saying how it was “one of the best wedding venues they were ever at” and for us it was the best. If you are a couple searching for the perfect venue to celebrate your marriage, The Step House is truly one to consider. Bob and Megan x

Outstanding service. The chef Alan Foley, is to be commended on the excellent menu. The food and its presentation were incredible. Amazing attention to detail. Facilitated my restricted diet with a beautiful selection of dishes. He went above and beyond my expectations. We will definitely return here. Beautiful room with a balcony and an excellent location near Borris Viaduct and across the road from the splendid Borris House and Gardens.
