Stiemerheide The Urban Hotel & Golf Retreat 4 Star Superior

From the very first to the last second of our stay, we felt welcome. Very attentive staff! Our room was not very large but cosy, and it had a nice design: great bathroom with toiletries, a professional hairdryer, aromatic soap and body lotions. Just did not find a way to switch off the light of the vanity mirror.. good bed with pleasant bed linen. We made use of the large and clean swimming pool with heated water. We were alone in there and enjoyed the calmness, the sunbeds and the great view to the green outdoors through the large window. We had a dinner Bib Gourmand at the Moonstone restaurant which was delicious and fairly priced. Service was fine though some staff still “on training”. Breakfast top! This hotel is really well located in a region that has a lot to offer (near Nationaal Park Hoge Kempen for nature lovers), it was a really good find and as our experience was very positive, it is definitely a place we will return to!

Great food, and service. The beds were great with different pillow options. Plenty of car chargers for EVs. Quality soap, shower gel and conditioner provided. If you are sensitive to strong scents, ask the front desk for alternatives.

Rather disappointing for the prices they charge. The renovated rooms are tiny, the walls are paper thin. We felt like walking into the basement(?), when we approached the room. Probably I woke up like 10 times people slamming the doors, you can hear everything the neighbours talk about. No shampoo, no conditioner. The room was super hot, ventilation not working properly. The friendliness at reception could be better as well. The sauna and the pool both look rather old. Probably the restaurant is great, but overall our stay was not worth the price tag. Despite positioning themselves as luxury stay, I doubt it’s in that category.
