Stilwell Hotel

Stillwell Hotel was a perfect stay in Carmel-by-the-Sea. The location is unbeatable — right in the heart of everything. The hotel felt fresh and new, yet still cozy and inviting. Evenings by the bonfire were a highlight, and the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. Clean, comfortable, and full of charm! We will definitely be back.

Great modern option in prime location. Most places in Carmel are charming but dated and need an upgrade. Love the courtyard and gourmet breakfast included. Wished we stayed 2 nights but passing through. However the coffee is terrible. Small detail but at luxury prices this is a really small but important detail. Also pay a little more for second floor balcony rooms if you’re going to do it. Huge bathroom in corner mountain suite with ocean view from balcony. The rooms are motel style and ground floor will be disappointing for the price. Appreciate the Free EV hookup too. Highly recommend.

Great location and excellent breakfast. The courtyard is well designed and with nice plants and fireplaces with nice seating areas. The staff is friendly. The attention to detail seems to be lacking in rather surprising areas for a hotel of this caliber. The sheets were polyester, the shower had little water pressure, the cocktails were mediocre at best as they were made from a capsule machine, and things were not picked up around the property in a prompt fashion. Overall lacking the luxury hotel professionalism.
