Amazing hotel! Very clean, newer, cute little cart store at the check in with cups and jams. Pool was also amazing. Hotel is a great distance from Acadia, Bar harbor and local food, walking distance from a cute little ice cream shop as well. Only complaint was laundry prices were $5+ to wash and $4+ to dry and my clothes which is outrageous and they didn’t feel super clean. I still had to hang dry them because they weren’t completely dry which was disappointing. Also the laundry machines only took quarters and with those prices is difficult, they really need a quarter machine or a card reader.
So my daughter wanted to do a national park for her birthday instead of a party and gifts. We decided to take the 9+ hour drive to Acadia. The day before I looked for hotels and there weren't many that were dog friendly but this place popped up. I was hesitant because of the low reviews and while the stay wasn't 100% perfect, it was an extremely good one! The pluses: full kitchen (range, oven, microwave, Keurig, clearly full size fridge and freezer.). Separate bedroom area from the kids pull out sofa (which was not your old school pull out mattresses but a comfortable memory foam one). There was also a small table for 2 to eat at and another 1 chair small office desk. Plenty of ports even some USB c wall outlets (for security I only use those USB c/a outlets to charge our portable batteries not hook up phones and tablets to). AC was COLD which was great during our 80+ degree heat wave we experienced while there. Bathroom was completely fine (new and clean). Overall I'd rate our room 100% clean. This was our first trip to a pet friendly and I was definitely nervous on what to expect but I came away impressed. Convenience - downtown Ellsworth is only a few minutes which we found an amazing Taco spot and another great ice cream place (the one next door is excellent but man the one in town was phenomenal!). Walmart was literally 100 yards away but couldn't be seen because of the trees. Super convenient. Acadia was a quick 20-25 minute drive but plenty of things to see /stop along the way. The pool area wasnt perfect but it was fine to jump in and relax. No loud music, never saw more than 3 people there our entire 4 night stay. It could use some more greenery around the pool area because it's back by the rear parking lot. It was clean and temperature was reasonable. Security - yes the exterior doors you can access the building easily. Workers are generally only present from like 6AM -11pm. There are security cameras outside and inside of each exterior door. **The one negative was the lack of inroom safes. I've definitely gotten use to them. If anyone is hesitant about this hotel I would say there really isn't a reason to be. It's perfectly adequate for a stay. We did encounter some construction on the main road they were doing over night but we dealt with it. It wasn't the hotels fault they were paving the highway. It seemed to be done sometime late night/early morning because I woke up around 5 and didn't hear a thing.
Quick weekend away and needed a dog friendly hotel. Staff were amazing and so friendly. The rooms were gorgeous and our son loved the sleeper sofa. Wish the a/c was colder in the room, but with the windows open and the ceiling fan it was comfortable. Close to Bar Harbor and lots of dining options close by! We will be back again and again!
