Strandhotel Orchidee

We booked this place for a short stay on Klopeinersee in June 2023 and were just amazed by this place! I have to say, while I was planning the vacation, I contacted other hotels before, but ultimately chose this one because the communication with hotel owners was wonderful, right from the very start. You could feel the friendly and warm welcome already from the first correspondence and call. Upon arrival we were greeted like friends, a very warm welcome from the host, who showed us everything and explained us also if we need anything else to just let them now. The prices btw are also VERY fair, in their hotel, accommodation and restaurant. Based on my research best value for money compared to other hotels around. The hotel is located directly on the lake, with a beautiful boardwalk beach that includes sunchairs, umbrellas and there is even a little boathouse with sauna, which was free to use for hotel guests. You also have wonderful views on the mountains in the back and the lake is one of the cleanest in Austria (drinking water quality!). There is paddle boarding available for 10 EUR / hour, free parking, free wifi everywhere. We (a couple in our mid-late 30ies, or moms and our 2 pet rabbits) stayed in the very spacious and beautifully decorated Parkvilla apartment, that has a full kitchen (incl. dishes, fridge, coffee machine, tea kettle, kitchen towels, cleaning supplies), a large living room area with a big flat screen tv, sofa, an annex room (perfect for a couple) and a master bedroom with a large bathroom (towels, amenities, toiletries, paper towels, toilet paper - all plentiful!). There is also a terrace with table and chairs. The house is historic but everything is newly renovated, nice decoration and furniture - we loved the accommodation and it has everything you need for a enjoyable stay. We did not stay in the main hotel building but it looked very nice as well and comfortable. The hotel rooms have also direct lake view from what we saw. There is also a very good restaurant in the hotel with outdoor seating (in our opinion the best in the area) and also reasonably priced with generous portions, lots of dishes to choose from, (we tried several during our stay and they were all delicious), large variety of drinks (again, very fair prices), cocktails, pastries (homemade and a lot of different once!) and ice-cream cups. Service personnel is very attentive, friendly and professional, you can see the entire team at the hotel works very professionally and well together. There is also a large grassy area to relax, play etc in front of the hotel with lake view, petting zoo, playground, trampoline, so for families with children I can see this also being a very good choice. The property is also really barrier free, not just a few ramps, but bathroom accessible, doors large enough for wheelchairs etc. (my late aunt was in a wheelchair so I can tell a bit what works and what doesn't). Very good selection for breakfast, different honeys, lots of local meats and cold cuts, cheeses, cereals, sweet bakery items, a huge tea selection, coffee, juices, fruits, gravlax, breads, spreads, eggs/ham,... A very big additional plus for us was that this hotel is pet friendly, we travelled with our pet rabbits and were very happy to have them with us. I really highly recommend this hotel and will be very glad to stay here again on our next trip to Klopeinersee.

Hotel rooms need an update but they are clean and spacious. But more important: super friendly owners and staff, one feels really welcomed; good food; very nice beach area where doggies are also allowed. Very relaxing weekend. It is our third visit and it will not be the last one.
