If you want an old style pub, with rooms, and not a franchise chain motel, this is perfect. Friendly happy staff. We were a but late arriving so meal choice was fish chips or meat pie, so we tried both the f&c was good, but the meat pies OUTSTANDING. Nice beers also. Cheers.
Quiet, remote setting near Hadrian’s Wall and lovely scenic drives. Authentic 17th century coaching inn with lots of historic charm in the common areas. We stayed 5 days in the clean, comfortable family quarters with plenty of room and a huge shower. Nice, friendly staff. Really good food. The eggs benedict at breakfast was super. Plenty of free on-site parking. Heads up to foreigners: Do your business in GB Pounds. Although we were not asked our preference, we received a 4.95% upcharge to convert payment to our local currency.
Brilliant nice and quiet location, lovely old building, traditional inn. Food and staff were excellent couldn’t fault them. Food is couple of quid over priced and beer is 6:20 bitter, 7:20 lager. Personally think this is too much unless you are used to London prices. Overall excellent stay but food and drink too pricey
