We were in Ojai for our daughter's wedding and booked three rooms for our family members. My wife and I stayed in the Condor room which we appreciated. The team did everything possible to ensure our stay was amazing.
The room was dated and the floor lamp had a torn shade hanging down. and I put out the change linen sign after my first and second night but received no service at all. I got my own fresh towels at the office, bottled water and coffee pods after the second night. I was very disappointed at the service. It was a short walk to the main street of town.
Arrived at 9:15pm and couldn't get access to our room. We called and they explained that late arrivals past 9:00pm typically have a key left in the Late Arrivals box; our wasn't there and no one was on the premises. The receptionist who took our call was not understanding or apologetic -- was instead defensive and accusatory, saying that we booked too late for the key to be in the box (there should be warnings or some way of alerting customers about this-- if you allow a customer to book, you need to be able to allow the customer prompt entry to their room. It's simply not an excuse). Took 35 minutes in total to get entry to our room and we missed most of the wedding welcome event that we were in town to celebrate. A big inconvenience compounded by the demeanor of the night desk reception.
