Excellent resort, the food is very good with a wide choice at breakfast and many options available. At the restaurant the staff are very attentive and professional, even with small details like placing a napkin on your lap. The managers of the place are also very kind and always willing to help with any problem – they even changed my booking date once so I didn’t lose the reservation. We also had a great experience with the diving Center, the team is very skilled and it was truly an excellent experience. The only downside was the manager, who seemed a bit careless with the guests. On our return from the excursion, he decided to load 46 fuel cans onto the boat. After several complaints, the issue was resolved, the cans were left behind, and when we came back to the resort the front desk staff welcomed us, clarified the situation with the dive Center, and helped us obtain a 50% refund. Great customer service from the resort team. The property itself is very well maintained: leaves are swept daily, the pool and rooms are cleaned every day. In the room you’ll find three bottles of water provided and replenished regularly. No particular issues to report. I recommend choosing the higher-numbered rooms, as the lower ones (like number 7 and before) are very close to the restaurant, so there might be some noise in the evening. In the afternoon there is low tide, so swimming is best either in the pool or further out from the pier. Excellent shuttle service and smooth collaboration with the airport transfer as well.
We stayed at Sudamala Seraya for 5 nights in June 2025 to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it was the perfect blend of luxury, nature and warmth. The beach bungalow was beautiful with stunning ocean views, though slightly lacking in sound privacy - worth upgrading to a detached villa if that’s important to you. The house reef was incredible for snorkelling (some of the best we’ve ever done) and we loved kayaking to nearby Hatamin Island where we snorkelled with reef sharks and vibrant coral. The spa was exceptional, the food consistently delicious (especially the breakfast and beef rendang) and the staff were truly outstanding - warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. A special highlight was the Sudajiva Soul Series yoga program I joined - I was the only guest booked, but the resort still delivered the full experience. It was one of the most magical and meaningful things I’ve ever done. Yes, it’s on the pricier side, but worth every rupiah. Highly recommended for a relaxing, high-end island escape.
I booked the Premium Panoramic Bungalow at this luxury hotel, and while the room itself is nice, the overall experience has been extremely disappointing. First, to reach this premium room from reception you need to walk about 300 meters and climb roughly 100 stairs up a hill. This makes simple things—like getting a drink or using the toilet, getting shower after swimming—very inconvenient. As in most hotels, there is a beach area with sunbeds. Naturally, I got up early and chose sunbeds near reception for myself and my husband, to avoid constant long walks back and forth. However, after two days I was suddenly told by another guest (and later confirmed by reception) that these sunbeds were “reserved” for her room. At no point was this ever communicated to me before. When I asked where I was supposed to sit, I was pointed toward a small, less accessible spot far from the beach, which is absurd for a so-called luxury property. The inconsistency is even more frustrating: hammocks on the property, including those in front of other rooms, are shared by everyone. But somehow the sunbeds are treated differently? The logic makes no sense and feels unfair. To make matters worse, the property’s hygiene standards are questionable. A mouse family seems to have made a luxury home on the roof at the intersection of the reception and restaurant. This is the last thing one would expect at a hotel marketed as high-end. What makes the situation even worse is the treatment I received from staff. Instead of offering a proper solution, I was essentially told to leave and that nothing could be done—until, later, a duty manager “graciously” offered me a pair of sunbeds only because another room was unoccupied. This is not luxury service; it’s dismissive and disrespectful. In short, you pay more at this hotel only to be treated poorly: - No clear communication about “reserved” facilities. - Inconvenient access to drinks, toilets, and even the sea (which requires navigating stairs and cliffs). - Unacceptable hygiene, with mice living near reception and the restaurant. Staff that seems unprepared to handle complaints professionally. - The room itself is fine, but after this treatment, it doesn’t matter. The experience is unacceptable for a hotel that calls itself luxury. P.S. The only "facility" to my allocated area is plastic water bottle on the shore and green garbage bin. See pictures. P.P.S. when I was walking to my designated sunbeds close to trash bin another two guests were having exactly same discussion- who does the sunbed belong to?! P.P.P.S. today at 9am we recieved a knock on the door, before we even got out of the bed, we opened the door and a memeber of a cleaning staff told us "I want to clean the room"...
