This place was just stunning. A dream. It is situated pretty much in the middle of the jungle; the moment you get out of the car you are greeted by a deafening amount of jungle sounds. The place embraces this jungle feeling, when you walk through it you can't help but feel like you arrived in paradise. The garden are gorgeous and full of beautiful exotic plants. The place is built along a river/waterfall and has a stunning view on this water. Nothing is better than having dinner on their patio and enjoying the view. There are at least 10 peacocks walking around, and they are super funny and interesting to watch. We could see them go about their day and perform their mating displays, which was so much fun to experience. They have some great chefs and cook fantastic tom ka kai and phad thai. We also had the luck to meet the owners, and had fantastic conversations with the owners husband. What a fantastic heartwarming people. The couple that works there is also super kind and helpful. When we needed something, they were keen to help out. One advice I have to give people is to rent a car. This place is far away from the city, so getting a taxi is hard. The rooms were decent, aside from some ants and our struggles to get the airco to the right temperature.
I stayed one night at Sukantara with my friend and was truly impressed. The experience felt magical — the resort is surrounded by stunning scenery, with a natural waterfall right at your doorstep. Our room was cozy and blended beautifully with the environment. Relaxing on the balcony while soaking in the sights and sounds of nature was a highlight. The staff were kind and welcoming with excellent service. A perfect getaway for anyone seeking peace and natural beauty in Chiang Mai!
Had a terrible time with managing booking tthey need to rid of the person or company that deal with their online bookings. The actual place once we got there is stunning and staff are lovely although not much English. The food is very good and we enjoyed our time there. It’s a real shame I had such a negative start. Booked and paid in full months before. Booked two rooms for 5 one of which is only a child on Booking.com clearly said all 5 included hotel wanted more for extra bed. We decided to get married while away so enquired about doing this while away. Got a reply saying not possible as a wedding is many man hours of work and we would need to book all the rooms and it would be very disruptive for other guests. The response was rude and upsetting as we in total would have been just the 5 still. For this reason we arranged to get married while on Koh Samui but first you have to visit the Embassy in Bangkok. You can only do this on. Tuesday or Thursday we we went to book for the Tuesday for some reason it was closed. I asked if I could move the dates by two days and cancel 1 of the 4 days paid for and use the money to pay against food. I sent numerous messages all ignored called time after time no English . Booking.com tried and got nowhere. I then said we would just stay the one night we would be there in original booking. Was told they would not allow us to stay. In all it took me 8 weeks to get this changed and we lost over 200 for the one night. We we got there was given the wrong rooms as we had booked two bedroom cottage with plung pool which quite a lot more in cost. No reason given why we did not get this and worse yet again no refund offered. Booking.com also refused to help. Rooms are nice but tired stunning location and staff helpful. The reason they would not do our wedding even more odd when we got there was only one other room occupied. As I run a small hotel for the life of me I still do not understand our awful treatment and nor could booking.com. It’s a lovely place but not worth all the stress and hassle we had. Sadly one to avoid unless they change who deals with bookings and communication I even sent messages in Thai!! When they finally did agree to move the dates charged me £40 to do this. Paid 4 nights only stayed 3 Charged for extra bed Charged to move the dates I feel sorry for the staff at the hotel with the admin team they have they’ve got no chance.
