I recently had the pleasure of staying at Sumi Vista , Darjeeling, and it was a truly delightful experience. From the moment I walked in, the ambience of the hotel was impressive – warm, welcoming, and beautifully maintained, with a touch of elegance that added to the overall charm. The food and dining experience were top-notch. The meals were not only delicious but also neatly prepared, reflecting the care and attention put into each dish. The variety of options available ensured that every meal was a satisfying experience, and the quality of ingredients was evident in every bite. The staff at Sumi Vista were exceptional – professional, attentive, and always ready to assist with a smile. Their service truly stood out, making me feel at home throughout my stay. As for the rooms, they were impeccably clean and well-maintained, offering a comfortable and relaxing environment to unwind after a day of exploring Darjeeling. Overall, my stay at Sumi Vista Hotel was fantastic, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Darjeeling. Akriti, Lozin and Adarsh were the staff who provided exceptional service during our stay
I had a very pleasant stay in Sumitel Vista ,TV tower. I really appreciate all the Staffs specially receptionist Manisha for very polite behaviour. She had taken care of us in all possible way. I felt homely and comfortable. 360 cafe view is very good . Though due to cloudy weather could not see much but the ambience is awesome. Cafe was not open so could not say about that much. Resturant service is top notch. Food quality is very good and served with proper dining etiquette. The hotel is on 10 mins stiff walk from darjelling mall . If anyone with disability or being super senior citizen can be little difficult to reach by walk .
A Stay with Promise, but Execution Needs Work – 2.5/5 I booked a one-night stay at Sumitel Vista directly over a phone call, and I must say, the booking process was smooth and efficient—definitely a positive start. The rate was ₹6100 for single occupancy with breakfast, which leans toward the premium side considering the hotel’s current standard, but I was hopeful the experience would justify the price. The check-in experience was seamless, and the reception staff were polite, welcoming, and helpful. I appreciated the warm gesture of being offered a cup of tea on arrival—it set a pleasant tone. I was informed beforehand that the hill view rooms were unavailable, but a street view room was assured. Unfortunately, the room I was given offered neither. Instead, it looked out onto the back of another building—dark, unappealing, and completely devoid of natural light or ventilation. The room had a musty smell, likely due to the lack of airflow. Basic amenities such as toiletries, slippers, and an electric kettle were missing from the room. These were provided upon request, but ideally, they should have been in place without needing follow-ups. Communication was also slightly inconvenient, as the intercom wasn’t functional, so all service requests had to be routed through a mobile number. Another major concern was the lack of power backup. During my stay, I spent a couple of hours in complete darkness due to a power outage. With no electricity and no natural light in the room, this was quite uncomfortable and certainly not expected at this price point. The breakfast, while included, was fairly limited in variety and not quite in line with the premium pricing. It felt more like a box-ticking exercise than a curated dining experience. On a brighter note, the checkout process was as smooth as the check-in, and I genuinely felt that the staff were doing their best within the limitations of the infrastructure. Sumitel Vista has potential—it’s well-located near Mall Road and could easily position itself as a strong mid-range option. However, it currently falls short in areas that matter: room quality, amenities, basic infrastructure, and the overall guest experience. With some strategic improvements and perhaps stronger operational leadership, this property could evolve into something much more impressive. As it stands, I’d rate my stay a generous 2.5 out of 5, with credit to the courteous staff and the property’s potential. I sincerely hope to see it grow into the kind of place it aspires to be.
