Summerhill Estate

Located in a very serene environment, it's an amazing guest estate. The owners are very hands on, friendly, welcoming. I didn't stay over but I was blown away by the service.

Unfortunately I did not have the 4.7 star experience here; The place is well located, and is really beautiful, but the maintenance is lacking (cables in disarray, mirror used to hang against the wall, now standing sideways against it and torn on the backside, chips and scratches on the furniture and stains ons the carpets). I was also not treated as a guest unfortunately - “welcomed” by one of the cooks, who forgot to tell me the coffee station is hidden in a corner cabinet. She gave me an info sheet (as you will see in my picture here - only info sheet by the way), which shares their pride of being “off grid”, water and electricity. One night’s stay, I woke up at midnight (ish), no electricity, and both my phones on very little battery life left. Needed to prepare for early morning work, I tried to get hold of the only contact number they provide, no answer. Jumped in the shower, got out, the person tried to phone me back, so I call again, again no answer! No I’m fuming. Packed my stuff, tried to get out of the gate, phoned the number again (no code or any alternative given to get out, also no remote provided with your key - Hotel California vibes), no answer again and again. Needless to say, I had a terrible experience here, and wouldn’t want anyone to have the same, so not recommended from me.
