I highly recommend this resort. The food is delicious. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. They speak english and spanish. The tour on the premise is amazing. My tour guide Heriberto was very knowledgeable and was able to show me so many cool animals and insects and tell me about all of them. The price of the resort cant be beat. The golf course on site is great. The hiking trails are amazing and I definitely recommend them. You will not go wrong booking your vacation destination at Summit Rainforest and Golf Resort
Disappointing Experience – Not as Advertised I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to be honest about my recent stay at the Summit Rainforest & Golf Resort. Unfortunately, the property did not meet expectations on multiple levels. First, the photos used to market this resort are incredibly misleading. While the setting has potential, the rooms and amenities are outdated and do not reflect the polished, modern look shown online. The reality falls far short. The food quality was poor—bland, limited in variety, and clearly not a priority for the resort. To make matters worse, the pool is located directly next to the only outdoor dining area, making for an uncomfortable and awkward experience for both swimmers and diners. Perhaps the most troubling policy was the requirement to leave a passport or government-issued ID to receive a pool towel. For international travelers, this is completely unacceptable. No guest should have to risk their primary form of identification just to use basic amenities. Lastly, while the name promises a golf experience, the course and golf carts were in truly awful condition—run-down, unkempt, and far from what any guest should expect when booking a golf resort. I would not recommend this property, particularly for international guests expecting a relaxing, well-managed resort experience. There is potential here, but it is currently unrealized and poorly executed.
I've stayed here many times over many years, it used to be a beautiful, peaceful place, but now, it's all just a party. Constant loud music from the property, even audible from the top floor and hallways. Everything is broken, air conditioning, ice machines, jacuzzis, light switches, etc. I was even moved to another suite, where even more things were broken. This place has really gotten terrible recently, despite being so good before. It is certainly not worth it anymore, with much better resorts nearby
