Sun N Sand Shirdi

Had lunch at this place today. Service was too good with a smile. Special mention to Mr Prashant, Mr Santosh & Mr Farooq who took good care of us. We ordered kothambir wadi which was tasty along with buttermilk and authentic maharashtrian thali. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Finally we had their Puran poli. It was too good. Must visit place for authentic local food.

We had a very good experience at the hotel. The rooms were decent but the gardens were beautifully designed. The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly. Although we overall had a very good experience but we feel that the upkeep could be improved upon. For instance the AC was not working properly, also the bathroom had some dusty corners and the bathroom ceiling was damaged in one corner. Hope they will improve on these details and when we come next time, we will have a better experience.

An old hotel with a great name and legacy. Very conveniently located near the temple with a not so regular shuttle service available. Rooms are large but the beds are queen size with a very thick soft mattress. If the bed is small and mattress too thick, one tends to fall down. The blanket does not cover two. Considering the size of the rooms, the bathrooms are quite small and not well appointed. As with all old properties, the fixtures are giving way. Restaurant served some delicious dinner. Especially the special sun n sand sundae was one of the largest I have ever eaten - worth a try. But breakfast was disappointing. Staff was polite and helpful.
