Sun Palace Hotel Resort & Spa

I recently stayed at the Sun Palace Hotel in Kos and have mixed feelings about my experience. On the positive side, the rooms are quite nice and well-maintained, offering a comfortable space to relax. However, the beds were very uncomfortable, which made it difficult to get a good night's sleep. The food was a major disappointment, especially considering this is a 4-star hotel. The quality was far below expectations, and the variety was lacking. I expected much better from a hotel of this rating. The reception staff, waiters, and chefs were all lovely and welcoming, which made the stay more pleasant. However, I did notice a young blond girl with her hair down carrying plates, which seemed quite unhygienic. The biggest issue was with the animation team. They seemed to cater exclusively to French guests, conducting all activities in French and only involving French-speaking children and adults. This left us feeling excluded and disappointed, as we were hoping for more inclusive entertainment for our child. The best part of our stay was the hotel's resident cats and kittens. They were very friendly and quickly became a source of joy for my child. As an English speaker, there was little else for her to do, so having these cats around made her stay much more enjoyable. Overall, while the hotel has some good points, the uncomfortable beds, poor food quality, lack of inclusive entertainment, and exclusive animation activities are significant drawbacks. The friendly cats were a delightful highlight, but I would recommend looking elsewhere if you’re not French-speaking or are expecting a more comfortable and inclusive stay.

Hotel for French speakers, all animations in French. Average quality Swedish buffet. Rooms need renovation, smells of damp, lots of cockroaches. Friendly service at the bar. Not many children in the hotel if you like calm and quiet.

I have read all opinions regarding this hotel before I decided to come here and I really do not understand how it's possible that some of them tells that in this hotel is good cuisine. First of all snacks between lunch and dinner looks like joke - you have only pancakes, nothing more - what if you don't like it?? You will stay hungry. Breakfast - horrible scrambled eggs made from dried eggs - is it so difficult to make scrambled eggs from real eggs?? The variety of food is much worse than in other four stars hotels in this region and breakfast looks really poor. Second thing - all communication in this hotel is in french, no English at all (!). Even animations are in french. Why not in English or in both languages at least?? I am from Poland and I feel here as a guest of worse category only because I am not french (!). I really don't recommend this hotel! Rooms are quite comfortable but a lock in bathroom doors is destroyed which is quite annoying. Only staff is nice and friendly.
