Sunday Box Hill Burford Bridge Hotel

Really enjoyed my stay here. The pool is fantastic and a real highlight. Great service from all the staff too. I do think the room and pool amenities e.g. showers could do with some modernising and TLC to make the place seem more high-end. Breakfast had good variety, but the quality of the hot food, like the bacon, sausages and scrambled eggs, wasn't great and lukewarm. Both hot and cold items didn't seem fresh, with the pastries being fairly hard. It could have been due to staying on a Sunday, but I didn't see much restocking of the food items. Overall, I would recommend the hotel and would stay again if the breakfast offering was to improve.

We booked this hotel to give us access to a swimming pool and air conditioned room on a very hot day. Upon arrival we were met with poor service as the information given was very unclear. We were later told we had to join a waiting list to access the pool because it was at capacity and we would be called. We did not expect this as hotel guests, however they allow members and the public to enter the pool. While we waited we were told they had run out of beer. After an hour and a half we approached another member of staff because we had not seen anyone be called to access the pool. Our room was excellent.

The hotel is great, very comfortable, unfortunately the staff are very disappointing. I arranged a surprise birthday treat for my wife and 6 friends. The reception staff ruined the surprise as soon as we arrived by telling her what was on in the evening, several staff were very rude. The bar prices are extremely expensive, more expensive than London, complete rip off. £13.60 or a glass of wine. The email received advised check in 14.00, check out 12.00, actua time was 15.00 and 11.00. Not sure who owns the hotel but would suggest they get staff that want to be there. Very disappointed.
