First time in a resort. I likes everything. Staff knows 3 or 4 languages so you won't have any problems communicating with them. The ocean is pretty clear, you can see the fauna with your bare eyes above the sea level. The food is amazing in the buffet. I didn't have the opportunity to to eat in all the restaurants but where I ate, it was amazing. Totally recommended

Just got back from this hotel. It is in desperate need of a renovation. The light in my bathroom didn’t work. Asked the from desk to fit it. I can’t say they ever sent maintenance. The light was never fixed. The place offers unlimited drinks but the bartenders only put a quarter shot of booze in the drink so I just went with wine. The staff was adamant about taking your room number to get a beach towel but when you return it they say just dump it in the bin so they really don’t monitor the towels. The place is supposed to be non smoking but the staff never enforced it so no matter where you go: beach, pool, coffee area. Smoke everywhere. if you’re not a smoker it’s a big problem. I asked the front desk about it and they said they would have Security look into it. Security never was there to enforce. The food was average at best. If you want anything that resembles food then I suggest you eat at the Italian place every night. I believe the Hyatt Corp just bought this place. Hyatt surely has their work cut out for them. I would definitely choose sandals or Hilton is I went back. At the airport while waiting for our plane we talked to people that stayed at other locations and they said they enjoyed those locations. As for diving, the shop was nice. Good equipment and nice diver masters and boat captains. But the water is usually rough and it’s very windy there. Can’t imagine why there isn’t more kite surfing or stuff like that.

My first all-inclusive and first trip to the Caribbean and it was interesting. The resort is OK, a little rough around the edges, but they have a great, though very manufactured, beach. My biggest issue was the lack of signage, both around the property (finding the building our rooms were in was an adventure), and in the World Cafe, the main buffet restaurant. Food was labeled with the main ingredient in it (chicken, beef, potatoes, etc.) but no information about how it was prepared or what was in it. If you have food allergies, you should be careful. The food and drinks are plentiful, but if you are a late night person, bring snacks because there is nothing really available after midnight. Also, the restaurants are confusing, the menus are limited, and the dress codes are enforced very inconsistently. For the beach, they have a policy that loungers may not be reserved, which is great. First come, first serve works fine. Except, when other guests yell at you and force you out of your lounger because they think they reserved it. Kind of scary and not a great experience. I was also surprised that, while very efficient at their jobs, 90% of the staff seemed miserable to be working there. The women at the front desk, the women in the gift shop, and a couple of the bartenders were nice, but most of the staff seemed like they were treated very badly by management or not paid very much or maybe both. Overall, the Caribbean was interesting once, and I might visit again sometime, but not at Sunscape.
