Our family had such a great experience at Sunscape Puerto Vallarta! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with genuine warmth and hospitality. One of the highlights of our stay was the exceptional staff who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Marcella in housekeeping was incredible — every single day our room was spotless, and I especially appreciated how she made sure our floors were thoroughly cleaned. With all the sand from the beach, this small detail made a big difference in our comfort! Angel the bellman was another standout. He remembered all of our names and was so personable, helpful, and kind every time we saw him. It’s people like him that truly make your stay memorable. The location of the resort is also a huge plus — just minutes from the airport, which made travel so easy. The area around the resort is very walkable, and my family and I felt completely safe exploring the neighborhood and nearby shops off the resort. It gave us the chance to enjoy local experiences while still having the comfort of the resort to come back to. We had an amazing time enjoying the beautiful beach, relaxing by the pool, and taking in the views of the ocean and mountains. This was the perfect spot for a peaceful and refreshing family vacation. Thank you to the entire Sunscape team for making our trip so special. We can’t wait to return!
The location and ocean view were by far the best features of this hotel — absolutely beautiful. My family really enjoyed the kids pool and the food served at the resort. I personally appreciated the free drinks and the daily restocked fridge in the room — a nice touch! However, the property itself is showing its age. The building and rooms felt quite outdated, which took away a bit from the overall experience. We visited in June during the rainy season, and unfortunately, the lobby had leaks throughout when it rained heavily. Thankfully, our room stayed dry. Overall, a great value stay, thanks to the location, service, and amenities — just wish the rooms and buildings were more modern.
The hotel itself was decent—somewhat outdated in terms of décor and facilities, but generally clean and functional. The food and drinks were average at best. While they were adequate, there wasn’t much variety, and the flavor was underwhelming. There were only two on-site restaurants, and the menus tended to repeat the same dishes, which became a bit monotonous after a couple of days. On the positive side, the staff were very friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout our stay, which made the overall experience more pleasant. The hotel has only one pool, but it was enjoyable and well-maintained. There is direct access to the beach, which is convenient, although the shoreline is quite rocky—something to be aware of if you prefer soft sand or plan to walk barefoot. The hotel is kid-friendly, offering a couple of small water slides and activities to keep younger guests entertained. The nightly entertainment was decent—not spectacular, but a nice way to wind down the evening. Overall, the stay was just okay. While there were some enjoyable aspects, the limited dining options and dated feel of the property made it unlikely that I would choose to return in the future.
