Sunscape Sabor Cozumel Resort and Spa

Our home for this trip. The resort is located between Dreams and Secrets. They are shutting down at the end of the month so it wasn’t top notch service. Front desk was not very accommodating when we asked for an upgrade when checking in. We were ready to pay but I think they are shutting down areas getting ready for the refresh. Service at the Mexican restaurant was the best. Much praise to Glenda and Antonio for the extra attention. Jesus the ceramic guy by the bar is a great afternoon break. The beach and snorkeling right there was perfect. The bar was was easy to get to and never busy. If you are looking for Super upscale this is not your place. Who knows what it will be like when they shutdown and reopen. It was perfect for us

Recently stayed at Sunscape Sabor Cozumel Resort for a vacation with family. Overall, most of the staff were friendly and welcoming, especially the bartenders and the baristas. The open bar was definitely a highlight, and I stopped by the café daily for coffee in the morning. Bonus, they also have ice cream! Unfortunately, the sit-down lunch and dinner experiences were frustrating. It often took 30 to 45 minutes to get our meals after placing our orders, which made it hard to enjoy. It felt like the kitchen and wait staff were understaffed. While the servers were doing their best, many times our waters weren’t refilled unless we flagged someone down. The rooms were okay, but there were too many drain flies, which was off-putting and took away from the comfort of the stay. If you're going mostly to relax, enjoy the drinks, and soak up the sun, this place has all of it, but don’t expect quick meal service or spotless accommodations.

First, location is beautiful. However, I’m given this resort 2 stars because of the service with the exception of 3 waiters/servers (Antonio) they treated us very well, but The food was awful. I believe it has been the worst I’ve had at an all inclusive resorts. For days, they had the same menu. It never changed. It got boring really quick. One day we ordered food, it took over an hour to get our food. In addition, it is not very kid friendly like other all inclusive hotels. The beds were not comfortable at all. The air conditioner was always leaking which my child fell (from the water dripping) but thankfully didn’t get hurt. We told them about it, but maintenance said to keep the temp. at 23 degrees C (73 degrees F) so it would not leak. It’s a hot/humid place, really.
