We had a wonderful stay at Sunset Paradise. The hosts are so kind and attentive and helpful, there is new kind of cute breakfast every morning, the pool is beautiful and the dogs are very kind. We got immediately changed to a new room when we asked one less near the road, and we got great tips for the island from mr. Fernando. The room was big and comfortable and AC worked really well. Location is good; bus goes often to the city for 5K pesos, to come back in the evening you take a taxi for 30K pesos. I really recommend this stay and we will be back :)
Doña Patricia & Don Fernando are very attentive hosts. They will ensure that you are very satisfied in any and every aspect possible. The hotel is located in the ocean front therefore there is wear and tear due to the salt water (I read in other reviews that the place is run down) This is completely untrue. Dona Patricia is a true patron of the arts. The entire hotel is filled with sculptures and paintings created by Colombian artists. The hotel is an art museum in its own right ! Sunset Paradise is a private retreat. Not a resort but a quiet reserved sanctuary. The hosts set up the rooms so if it possible, there is only one room occupied per floor at a time; it actually feels like you have the entire place to yourself ! The pool is well maintained and cleaned. The jacuzzi was in fine working order (it is not hot) and I enjoyed the hydrotherapy very much so. Don Fernando prepares delicious breakfast and coffee every morning. I highly recommend staying at Sunset Paradise and would return again definitely !
This is not a standard hotel, but a beautiful old villa run by a lovely olderly coupe, who also lives in it. They speak spanish and are very helpful. They have breakfast in the morning, and you can buy soft drinks and beer all day. The rooms are for me standard for the Caribbean with no hot water, but booth AC and fridge. The cleaning of the rooms was good. We got our clothes washed very fast. The place is some km’s outside the city, and you need some transportation to get around. We rented the owners moped and it worked good. The small swimming pool is nice, but the jacuzzi is not working. The coastline outside the villa is not for swimming, due to the rough cliffs. The house is guarded by 2 sweet big german shepherds and a cat, but my kid and i are used to dogs and cats.
