Another very special stay at Sunset Resort. Thankfully they managed to sort my mistake with my booking. From being greeted by Ewan at the airport, to the office, restaurant and cleaning staff, everyone is truly a credit to the Resort. Their warm and friendly natures, with nothing being too much trouble, made our stay what it was. Kevin and Cath have an amazing team and are also very welcoming and helpful. The Resort is clean, tidy and beautifully presented both inside and out. The rooms are well appointed and a good size. The beds are large and comfortable. The cleaning staff do a wonderful job of servicing the rooms. The meals at the restaurant are beautiful and the staff are always very happy and helpful. The continental breakfast was a lovely start to the day and the choices of cooked breakfast were also a great selection. The swimming pools and beachfront are a lovely way to while away a few hours to relax and recharge. We can't speak highly enough of our stay.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had the most incredible stay at Sunset Resort – truly a 5-star experience from start to finish! All the staff are super friendly and consistently go out of their way to help, creating such a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. The housekeeping team does an outstanding job – our room was immaculately cleaned every day. A comprehensive compendium is also included in the room. The entire resort is beautifully maintained, with the grounds looked after daily across the whole complex. The Anchorage Restaurant staff were just as friendly, and the meals were delicious and very reasonably priced – great value for quality food. The Birdcage Bar quickly became our favourite spot for happy hour – Sunset Resort being an adults-only venue fitted perfectly with our holiday needs. Over the 10 days we resort-hopped for lunch and drinks, and nothing we visited came close to meeting our preferences the way Sunset did. And of course, the sunsets are nothing short of breathtaking – a picture-perfect way to end every day. We honestly can’t wait to return! Thanks Kevin and the Team!
The resort itself is beautiful. Very well maintained, beautiful gardens and stunning pool. Right on the beach, perfect to watch sunsets from. The rooms are immaculate The cleaning staff do a 5 star job! They were so friendly every day with big smiles and a lovely greeting. The rooms have everything you need, fitted out so well with extremely comfy beds! We had a top story room overlooking the pool the patio area is perfect to sit and relax on. Breakfast is very basic but you can order a cooked breakfast, coffee was great (ordered a soy latte every day). Food was lovely in the restaurant had great meals every time! The cons were the rooms are not sound proof, there are metal shutters on the side of the glass sliding doors and mesh behind them, sound travels up so unfortunately for the last 2 nights out of 4 we had a big group of drinkers next to us and below who gathered and were very loud from 3pm to 11pm so it wasn't peaceful and we had no way to shut out the noise. Not the resorts fault of course but if you want peaceful and quiet I'd book down by the beach. The Cook islanders reception staff were absolutely beautiful, Hailey in particular what a gem, she was just a ray of light, so warm and welcoming! The other reception staff (older ladies) didn't really give a welcoming vibe, in fact one totally ignored us twice. For us we travelled 2.5 days to get there so it felt odd to not feel that really welcomed feeling we've experienced elsewhere. You have to carry your own luggage so if you're older factor that in lifting suitcases upstairs or ask for a ground floor room. The bus stop is right out the front which is so handy if you don't hire a car or bike (but wish we had of would have been a lot easier to get around).
