Sunstar Alpine Hotel Flims

I stayed at the Grand Hotel Surselva for 7 days in mid January. The hotel staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and accommodating. They were extremely helpful with me getting my delayed baggage from Swiss Air. The breakfast and dinners were outstanding with a menu that had different offerings each day. The room had two twin beds which were big enough for my 6’2” height. Great room for skis in the basement that even has a wall of boot dryers. Also, the hotel has a great spa that I highly recommend. 5 stars!

Very nice hotel. The free breakfast is fine. There's a nice restaurant, and the swimming pool area is also nice, although the pool is kinda small

The greatest highlight at this place: it's dinner buffet. I stayed 5 nights and enjoyed every night's dinner. Reception service is great. The room is sparse - no basic amenity such as kettle, coffee maker, etc. There are limited power sockets in my room. Hotel check-in starts at 4:00p. You cannot check in earlier or store your bag as the hotel reception is closed between 10:00a and 4:00p. There are many large sofas and a few tables for hanging out. I have a corner room - Internet wifi strength is low in my room. I get the strongest wifi signals in the hallway to by room. Internet broadband speed is at best average. The hotel tidies up their rooms everyday usually in the morning. Hotel does not provide shuttle service to Flims ski base - you must take the bus. It's about a 5mins walk from the bus stop to the hotel. Bus 411 is usually less crowded than Bus 81. If you do not have a ski ticket, you can get a bus pass from Hotel to take public buses within Flims and Laax for free during your stay. Hotel has ample parking spots. I am satisfied with my stay at this hotel despite some drawbacks.
