We have stayed here six seasons now, after having tried many different places in the Austrian, French, and Swiss alps. Nothing beats Obertauern and we have been pleased with this hotel. It is nicely located in the center of Obertauern with walking distance to bars and restaurants. You can ski out of and ij to the hotel. The ski school assembles right next to the hotel. If you fancy a nice all-day skiing you can join Mr. Lürzer, the owner, for the Tauern-runde. Oh, and the breakfast is fantastic.
We had the most amazing family holiday. The hotel is very conveniently located so you can ski on to the off the Edelweiss slope. Very friendly and helpful staff that speak both English and German. Lovely rooms with idyllic views. The breakfasts are brilliant - massive selection of cold meats with cheese, cereals and a chef to make you omelette or bacon and eggs as you like them. Then the 5 course dinners (7 of you include the salad bar and the cheese board) are out of this world with something different each evening. The Aqua Lounge is fantastic with three different saunas and a steam room in addition to the heated pool and warm jacuzzi. Highly recommended.
