We decided to have a celebration of life event in The Tennyson Suite at the Brackenborough and we were genuinely thrilled by it. No problem was too small or too big for the team, the food superb, and a very beautiful setting for such a difficult occasion for us, as a family, to hold. They were very sensitive to our needs, and the bespoke bar and food and catering options were absolutely great.
This is in a lovely location and all the staff were very friendly. The rooms are well looked after but there was only luke-warm water from the shower and I could hear everything from the neighbouring rooms. I mean EVERYTHING. It's part of the layout of the hotel so if you don't mind hearing your neighbours and then hearing you then it's absolutely fine. Not really for me though. The restaurant seems to sell itself as quite classy but I found the food to be pretty average. Again, not awful but really not special. My chicken was very dry and the advertised tsatziki was so small it was a bit embarrassing as the only "sauce" with a main. Be aware that they only take cards. It's not immediately obvious when you get there. Finally, for a place that "thinks it's classier than it is" as guests kept telling me, the price of their drinks is utterly outrageous. Completely mad. Charging London prices in Louth? I had one and then just thought it was daft. In summary, not a bad place but a few details were a bit weird and made it a "would I return? No."
Had been previously for the food which was brilliant. This time wanted to stay as was completing a gin experience down the road. The room considering it was a superior double room had a nice bed but lacked a couple of amenities that would have been nice. The room could have done with a fan and a phone to utilise the room service. The shower lacked pressure and despite being on full heat even after the safety switch still was not not enough. Would definitely return for the food based on previous visit but not necessarily for staying again. The staff were always friendly.
