A truly amazing holiday experience at Sutera @ Mantanani! From the moment I arrived, the warm hospitality of the staff and the peaceful island atmosphere allowed me to truly relax. The chalet was clean and comfortable, the fresh seafood was delicious, and the snorkeling activities were incredibly fun making this holiday truly unforgettable. The crystal-clear turquoise sea is perfect for photography enthusiasts and nature lovers. Definitely coming back again! Far from the hustle and bustle of the city, a sense of peace and tranquility can truly be found here.
Sutera Mantanani is a charming resort with wonderful beach views and feels so pleasantly tranquil being secluded for where it is. We did enjoy our stay for the most part however, there are some things that I feel like should be addressed. When we checked-in at the jetty, we were told that the boat would depart at 2:15pm but it didn’t depart until 3pm, meaning we had to wait longer than we had to/spend less time at the actual island. Being so secluded and with no where else to dine, I do think that they should have a more extensive menu for lunch and dinner. Hospitality for the most part was okay but it felt a bit hit or miss with some staff who were so happy to go out of their way for you and some other staff who didn't seem like they wanted to be there. Upon further inspection when we first checked in, linen was dirty and we had to request for fresh clean towels without any stains about two times before we able to get some fully clean ones. The bed sheets had a couple of stains too but we decided to look past this. It would have been super helpful to have a room handbook with instructions on how to dial for reception as this was not information provided to us upon check-in. It also seems strange to not have a minibar or a fridge in the room to store water bottles as well. We asked reception if they could provide us with beach towels but unfortunately, beach towels are something they do not offer. To make it truly feel like a resort, I do think that the above should be considered moving forward. All in all, thank you for hosting us at this beautiful island.
If i could give zero stars, i would I'll begin with the positive 1. Lovely island with clear waters 2. Friendly staff, very helpful Negatives 1. The boat departure from mainland to jetty was delayed by around 20 minutes, and no explanation was given. We ended up reaching around 4pm 2. Rooms: bathroom drain was clogged (reported to receptionist, and a technician came, armed with a BOTTLE. Unsurprisingly, the problem was not resolved), the TV in the room only had analogue channels and even then we could not connect to any channels) 3. We paid for the sunset cruise (which eventually did not happen, as apparently the waters were ???shallow and the boats could not move), however we were refunded. 4. "HI TEA": Do not be fooled, this isn't Hi tea, you'll get served even better and more variety of foods even at normal school events - we were served a few currypuffs, cakes and tuna bread. 5. As we were unable to enjoy the sunset cruise, we decided to walk around the island to look for the sunset. However the only thing we found was rubbish. All in all, we paid RM630 for this trip. And not a single cent of it was worth. It used to be good, but now no more.
