My only regret is that we only stayed one night. We stayed in the historic house as a family of 10 (4 bedrooms) What a delight. The bedrooms are perfectly appointed, tastefully furnished, the hospitality of the staff just perfect. The dinner at Patat restaurant was exceptional. This was the last night of a 7 day road trip and we definately ended it on a high. Do not skip the breakfast - it was the best breakfast of all.
This is an amazing place to visit and stay over. The scenery is beautiful. The rooms are well maintained and spotless. The management & staff members are very efficient and the food is absolutely delicious. The home made bread was the highlight.
We had the most wonderful stay at Swartberg Country Manor. The scenery is simply breathtaking—those views of the Swartberg mountains are hard to beat. Add to that the warm hospitality and stylish comfort, and you’ve got a perfect getaway. Leonie, clearly has a refined taste, and her thoughtful touches were felt throughout our stay. The wine selection is excellent, reflecting her love for quality, and it paired beautifully with our meals. Speaking of meals—Patat Restaurant is a hidden gem! The skaapstertjies and braaibroodtjies were a culinary highlight, full of local flavour and charm. Breakfast was equally impressive, and the kids couldn’t stop talking about the chocolate milkshakes—they rated them 10/10 and insisted they were the best they’ve ever had. A truly special place that blends Karoo tranquillity with heartfelt hospitality. Highly recommended!
