Great Bivak zone for camping. However limited options for hammock camping. Reservation required. Close zoet waters cafes. Will visit again.

Big bivouac place but only for 3 tents or max 10 people. Reservation is needed. A forest ranger is present to check the bivouac.

Very nice place in the forest with legal fireplace near. Unfortunately it is geared more to tent users, while I personally prefer a hammock. The forest around is quite dense and I could not see a reasonable place for a more than one hammock on this bivakzone. The forest staff workers taking care for this place make quite regular visits and check for problems. Edit Oct 2017: Still a very good place! But on our last visit the metal cages for fire wood were all locked. I was lucky to be able to squeeze and twist few smaller pieces. I am sure I can find wood in the forest not far, but perhaps this is not the idea of this place. Edit May 14 2019: Grass was nicely cut by the forest staff. All still good, but why there was no fire wood in the cages? I think it makes sense to use the wood from the cages, otherwise everybody will roam around cutting the forest. Edit April 2022: A large patch of nice pine forest was cut next to the bivakzone and I have no idea why this was done. I don't see how cutting trees gives a better CO2 and protects from global warming. Who gave permission for this and where was this announced? Was there any public discussion? Not to my knowledge.
