Swiss Belhotel Makassar

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The atmosphere is super cozy, the place is very clean, and the view is absolutely breathtaking — definitely one of the best I’ve ever experienced! Terima kasih banyak untuk hospitality-nya yang luar biasa, especially to Mas Gilang, who was very helpful and friendly selama saya menginap di sini. Semua staff juga ramah dan sangat profesional. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable and memorable stay with beautiful ocean view. I’ll definitely come back!

Stayed here as part of a touring group with Motul, and while the location and view are undeniably the hotel’s strongest points, the overall management really needs serious improvement. For a property that claims four stars, the experience felt underwhelming in many basic aspects. The room was spacious, but details were neglected—sofa upholstery was stained, curtains looked dirty, some lights didn’t work, and the fridge barely functioned. Even the shower showed signs of wear and poor maintenance. These are small things individually, but together they reflect a lack of attention from housekeeping and maintenance teams. The breakfast was one of the most disappointing parts of the stay. Food lacked flavor, several items were either cold or not refilled, and the dim sum tasted stale. For a hotel of this caliber, breakfast should be a highlight, not a letdown. It seemed like there was no proper quality control in the kitchen. The staff were polite and tried their best, but clearly the core issue lies in the management's inability to maintain standards and ensure consistency. A beautiful view can’t compensate for neglected facilities and subpar food service. With better oversight and a stronger commitment to upkeep and guest experience, this hotel could easily live up to its potential.

Of the many hotels in Makassar, we stayed at Aston inn + Swiss-Belhotel. They were among the most acceptable. Swiss-Belhotel is of course very outdated for a 4-star hotel and needs major repairs. When it's hot outside, the air conditioners can't cope with cooling, since they are outdated and probably haven't been changed for a long time, there is a musty smell in the room. The shower room was not very clean, but we asked to wash it and everything was done without problems. The laundry service at the hotel seemed very expensive to me, the price is considered per object. We paid 16 € for 19 objects. Towels are given out in the pool, they are very very old, shabby with holes, but clean, and since they are old - very soft 😂. But despite these shortcomings, the hotel has wonderful and very responsive staff, everyone is friendly and cheerful. These are the people who make the atmosphere very friendly. Our room was cleaned every day (Dean K is a nice guy), the administrator and his team helped us find our lost phone, they cooked delicious breakfasts, the pancakes were just super. Very tasty fresh fruits. The view from the pool is very beautiful, only the tiles are dangerously slippery, you need to move very carefully. The graffiti bar on the 20th floor is definitely worth a visit, the prices for drinks are European, but the music is great. Every evening new local music bands perform, among some there are real gems, they made our evenings very full of positive emotions. We really liked Jelita + Aims 👍
