Hands down, the Swissotel Hotel in Foshan is AMAZING!!! The value for money is insane! From the front desk to room service to the room itself, everything was top-notch. The interiors are stunning, the rooms are fabulous, and the location is perfect. But what really makes this hotel stand out is the people working there. They're kind, attentive, and super helpful! Our interactions with the lovely staff and the people of Foshan in general have left us with an incredibly positive impression of the Chinese culture and its people.
When you think of Swissotel, you think of it being a 5* property. But we neither got the vibe nor got the service of a 5* from here. Located at Foshan, this hotel feels like a very old building. The room, corridors everything gives you a vibe of an old building (maintained well though). Having said that, the room was spacious and it had everything we needed. The minibar and Nescafé pod were thoughtful addition. The bar and breakfast buffet were somewhat disappointing; both in terms of food quality and options. Will I go and stay again, maybe not.
The hotel was adequate for a short stay, though the overall experience was somewhat underwhelming. The staff came across as rather formal and rigid, which impacted the sense of hospitality. While suitable for a few nights, there are certainly better accommodation options available in Foshan. Unfortunately, the breakfast was a major drawback — the selection was quite limited and not particularly appetizing, especially for those unaccustomed to warm or traditional Chinese dishes in the morning. Simple items like croissants were among the few acceptable options.
