Apr 2025 2 of us We went here trying their private cabin hot spring. We love it. So efficient, clean, simple and very japanese like. Hot spring water temperature just nice for us. Finishing up with a very cold shower afterward. Refreshing… They offered small ice creams at the lobby before we went out. Also very tasty.
A fantastic hot spring experience right in the heart of Beitou. If you’re only spending a day or two in the area, this place should be high on your list. It’s about a 15-minute walk from the MRT, making it super accessible compared to the more remote mountain hot spring resorts. The facilities are spotless and thoughtfully laid out—each floor offers something different. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the area, which adds to the welcoming atmosphere. You can even rent a traditional Japanese outfit while dining, which adds a nice cultural touch. Don’t miss the hot spring museum just across the street—it’s a great way to round out the visit. The food here is impressive, especially the desserts. The peach green tea is a standout—fragrant, balanced, and not overly sweet. The parfait ice cream was a bit much for me (not a sweet tooth), but if you enjoy rich desserts, it’s a must-try. All in all, Radium Kagaya offers a refined, relaxing experience without needing to venture deep into the mountains. Perfect for a quick, memorable escape in Beitou.
I came to Kagaya for the Onsen and Kaiseki lunch experience. Booking was through Klook and super simple. I’ve been hearing from the locals that Kagaya is a brand name a lot of people know around here. First of all, the hotel has a beautiful ambiance, I would love to stay here if I had more time in Taiwan. I had really high hopes for the onsen but I found it quite underwhelming. Very limited selection of baths and almost no variety for bath temparatures. The bath was usually around 42-43 degrees which is way too hot for me to soak in for longer than 5-10 mins. I wish there was also a slightly colder bath. What really disappointed me was the lack of cold bath. Technically, there was one, but only set at 20 degrees and you weren’t allowed to dip in it, only scoop up water and pour on yourself. Other than this, the onsen is VERY well maintained with staff checking in around the clock. It’s very clean and has all the amenities one would need. Kaiseki lunch was also good. Not a very complex menu but it was very tasty and prepared just like in a Japanese ryokan. I also opted to get additional unlimited peach Oolong tea along with the lunch. There were also refills of Japanese tea. In my opinion, the onsen entry is way too overpriced. The lunch is fair.
