Taj Puri Resort & Spa Odisha

As an international and recurrent traveler to Puri every year, finally discovering a comfortable and welcoming place to stay in Puri felt like a real blessing. The hospitality, food, and services were impressive. We stayed in a sea-view room — initially, there was a hint of smoke smell, but the staff was quick, courteous, and promptly arranged a fresh room for us. The SPA services exceeded my expectations. The two therapist were absolutely fantastic. While the beach right outside isn’t the cleanest, and nearby options are limited, the property’s indoor pool offered a relaxing alternative. Overall, it was a satisfying and pleasant experience, made special by the attentive service and serene sea views.

My first stay at the Taj in Puri. It is a new build so loses some of the charm of the other Tajs I have stayed at. The view was great and the rooms are of a good size. The best thing about this hotel were the staff and the food. We had breakfast and dinner at hotel. The food was fresh and very tasty. They give lots of options at their buffets which would cater for all tastes. We had food from the pool side menu which equally excellent. Service was excellent, Uday was very welcoming and accomodating in the restaurant. Taking the extra time to make sure we were well looked after. Sachin at the front desk as manager was excellent. He was knowledgeable and helpful. Even getting us an auto for us to visit the Jagganath temple (cars cannot get very close). My only complaints are minor. The finishing in the bathrooms could be a bit better. And I was woken up by the doorbell of the room nextdoor which I think should be looked at. The service was excellent

We stayed at Taj Puri, Odisha for a short family visit during a business trip. While the location is quite isolated and the beach and surrounding area are not very appealing, the hotel itself is excellent. It’s a new property with beautiful, modern rooms and a fantastic restaurant. Special thanks to Chef Manoj, who made our dining experience outstanding. His passion for local cuisine and personal approach made every meal special. We also appreciate Mr. Uday and Ms. Sushmita for their attentive and friendly service at the restaurant. The hotel staff truly go above and beyond—every request was handled quickly and with great care. A special mention to Mr. Jagannath, the 2nd floor manager, and his entire team for their excellent service. However, there is room for improvement in managing the gym and pool areas. One issue we noticed was that the sunbed mattresses are removed early in the evening, leaving no comfortable place to sit or relax under the stars—which is one of the few peaceful things to enjoy in this isolated location. Also, having some organized yoga sessions or other wellness activities would add great value for guests who stay in. Overall, a very comfortable and peaceful stay, with truly excellent service.
