Talbot Hotel Cork

Arrived at this Hotel on the afternoon of 31/07/2025 to be met with a smiling and very welcoming member of the reception staff. A swift registration, and I am on my way to a lovely room on the first floor. The room was immaculate with a super comfortable bed. Air conditioning was a welcome addition due to a warm afternoon. Unfortunately, I received a call to inform me of an urgent presentation needed via Zoom at 5 pm. Starting to panic, I approached reception to ask about a room with a screen, but unfortunately, there were none available. Pressure was beginning to build with stress levels getting out of hand. and that was when I met a beautiful Lady. This lady could read my stress levels and asked how I was doing. It turns out this Lady was none other than the General Manager, Janice. Within 10 minutes, Janice had organized a room with a large screen ready to use. She had me set up with a staff member with a sound knowledge of technology on standby to assist if needed—an excellent professional service provided by a very experienced staff. Two and a half hours later, after a successful meeting, I went to the Bistro for food. Service was excellent and the food was hot and delicious. I also notice some very excited children coming from the pool within the hotel. Happy smiles all around, and it's great to see. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for both business and leisure. Janice certainly lived up to the Hebrew origin for her name, "God is gracious, or a gift from God." An enjoyable, comfortable stay with a professional staff providing excellent service

My daughter and I stayed at the Talbot Hotel Cork while in Ballincollig for a funeral. Our room was spacious & immaculately clean. Comfortable beds. Quiet overnight & nice and dark, so we got a good night’s sleep. Breakfast buffet had plenty on offer and we thought price was reasonable for the quality & quantity. I would highly recommend the Talbot. It’s outside of Cork City, but a quick drive or bus ride into the heart of town. And Ballincollig has plenty in the way of restaurants/bars, some shops, and the wonderful Regional Park for walking, running, taking in lovely views alongside the River Lee.

The location of the Talbot Hotel in Ballincollig is excellent. The reception staff are polite and friendly. The buffet breakfast is good. However the staff in the restaurant in the evening, apart from Amy, appear disinterested. The bedrooms were spotless and well maintained but could do with an upgrade. There was no complimentary pen or notepad in the bedroom which was surprising for a 4 Star hotel.
