Taormina Park Hotel

The Parkhotel Taormina has clearly seen better days. The entire building is quite dated and exudes the faded charm of the 1970s – a full renovation is long overdue. While the rooms are spacious by Italian standards, they, like the rest of the hotel, show significant signs of age. No wifi at the 5th floor. Cleanliness is mediocre. Breakfast is served exclusively in an uninspiring indoor area with worn and patched tablecloths. The pool is nothing special but acceptable - with the exception of the far too few sun loungers so that only a fraction of the guests have the opportunity to enjoy a day at the pool. On the plus side, the hotel boasts an excellent, central location and rooms facing the sea offer a stunning view. The service is normal, and the staff are doing their job. Conclusion: This hotel, part of the Chincherini chain, is evidently being run as a cash cow – necessary investments are simply not being made. A pity, because with a manageable amount of effort, the guest experience could be significantly improved.

Booked a double room with a balcony & got allocated a single room with no balcony. Emailed hotel 3 times to refund difference in price & they are ignoring me. Real shame as good hotel in great location but no customer service & don't feel ignoring emails is the response you'd expect from a 4 star hotel. Very disappointing

Stated there for 2 weeks in june, booked a superior room, I'm a solo traveller but expected a large room with double bed at least, was given a single room with single bed, the whole room was tiny with just enough room to move in, certainly not what I paid for, it was not superior, in fact it was like something from an old American movie in a roadside motel, I paid a lot of money for this trip as I have cancer and wanted what might be my last trip abroad yo be memorable, I was very disappointed. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
