We had a magical 2 nights in the lodge. Tarraleah is such a beautiful place with so much to explore. The walking trails on the property are fantastic and easy to access. Our room in the lodge was well appointed, clean and comfortable. The Highlander Tavern is great for dinner, warm, rustic and welcoming. The Lodge itself is amazing with a stunning lounge/bar area where you can relax, read a book or maybe do the Whiskey tasting. Thank you to Damian for the wonderful greeting and explanation of how things work. Special mention to Chef Nikki for cooking us a delicious breakfast every morning. We will definitely be back !
2 night stay, powered site, 2 adults. Drive through site surrounded on both sides with trees and small fences. Wet and boggy underfoot due to the recent and ongoing rain. Amenities are old and surrounds are uneven concrete. Although the facilities are clean, all toilet and shower doors open outward creating an issue when others are using the amenities at the same time. Shower curtains are revolting thin plastic which wants to stick to you when showering. The exhaust fan is in a corner and needs to be switched on/off. The hotel was open for evening meals and the cafe was well presented and offered a wide variety of food and drinks. The surrounding gardens are beautiful and well maintained, the old 1930s houses and buildings are also photo worthy .
This place is beautiful! We stayed in the highlander cabins right at the back which are really nice and perfect for a 1-2 night stay before continuing on our road trip. Felt very secluded and comfortable. The surrounding property is beautiful to explore - there are some walking trails - although when we went they were not maintained and it could do with a few more signs to show the way. Seeing all the wildlife and meeting the cows was an awesome little treat.
