Tenuta il Sassone Wine&Food

La dolce Vita at its best! This little hotel is just a dream. We spent some days after our wedding in tuscany here and it was a wonderfull time. The place is magical, the view is breathtaking and the staff is just so friendly and helpfull! You reach the hotel via a long (bit bumpy) privat road and find yourself directly in a quit paradies. All you can hear is the chirping of the crickets and all you can see is a wonderfull view into the nature and some animals (we saw baby porcupines, that was very cute!) You can either spend the day at the wonderfull pool and order some drinks and snacks or you can reach the ocean in 20-30 minutes by car. At night you can have dinner at the hotel what I would recommend, because the food, the wine and the atmosphere is just perfect! We will definitely come back

I had the most beautiful lunch & afternoon at Il Sassone. We called in the morning to ask if the restaurant would be open for lunch, and the lovely manager said we could come for the set menu. We arrived to a beautifully set table in the shade of the courtyard terrace, overlooking a gorgeous expanse of vineyards all the way to the horizon. We at four carefully curated and prepared courses, with fresh local produce from the property and the local area. It was delicious! We shared a bottle of the winery’s rose and it was lovely. Thank you for a fantastic time, it was truly our best meal in Tuscany 😊

Just an incredible place to stay, staff can not do enough for you, we also did the cooking class and vineyard tour which showed off more of this amazing estate. We will be back. They are very dog friendly and have their own onsite Ivo who will be pottering around everyday. If you are planning to fly to Italy you can easily get a train from Pisa to Folnica then take a 20 minute taxi from the station to make the journey a little easier.
