The staff greeted us well when we arrived. The managers were both very kind and efficient when giving us our room. The room was quite nice. It was the perfect size for us. Bathroom etc very clean. I would recommend. We wished we booked extra days. They have a lovely breakfast/coffee room and their hot chocolate is amazing. We would definitely come back again.
Unfortunately, our experience at the hotel was disappointing. The staff appeared to be polite on the surface, but in reality showed no genuine interest in resolving guests’ issues. At breakfast, there was a noticeable lack of food – we waited over 30 minutes for eggs, and when they finally arrived, the waiter brought only four (!) for a room full of people. The same applied to basics like bread, cold cuts, and cheese (see pictures). The food selection was extremely limited – unacceptable for the price we paid. There were practically no vegetables available. During breakfast service, the one and only staff person would disappear for long periods, leaving guests without any food. Housekeeping also left much to be desired. There was visible dust on the bathroom shelf under the mirror, which clearly hadn’t been wiped at all. The surrounding area is pleasant and relatively quiet, which is a plus. Another positive was that the hotel manager asked for our feedback during check-out and genuinely seemed interested in hearing our opinion – we appreciated that. However, overall, the stay did not meet expectations and we would not return.
I recently stayed at this hotel while attending a concert in Hyde Park with my partner. The room was very clean and well-equipped with everything we needed. However, I agree with other reviews about the size of the double beds — they are definitely smaller than standard. My partner and I are both slim, yet we barely fit comfortably, and I’m honestly surprised neither of us fell out during the night. A word of caution: keep a close eye on your personal belongings. We left a shopping bag with some newly purchased clothes on the floor of our room before heading out for the evening. The next morning, the bag was gone. We reported it to the staff, who said they had checked with housekeeping, but unsurprisingly, the cleaner denied taking it. Fortunately, the items weren’t expensive, and to the hotel’s credit, they did reimburse us for the missing clothing. Lastly, during check-out, we overheard another couple being checked in — their experience was noticeably more informative than ours. For example, staff mentioned there were complimentary tea, coffee, and fruit available just around the corner from reception — something we were never told about.
