I cannot express my gratitude enough for the staff at The Andrews Hotel! 🙏 This is a lovely, elegant, interesting hotel nestled in a great location in SF. I have stayed in a several rooms—each thoughtfully designed to optimize views and the unique spaces of this historic building. ✨ The Andrews Hotel Staff are able to accommodate a wide range of guests’ needs. If you’re in town for a conference, wedding, sight-seeing adventure, or just need a peaceful space, I highly recommend this hotel! Thanks for the incredible hospitality & I hope to return again soon! 🤍
Overall it was pretty good. We just stayed in for a night because location is good. Feels so clean you can smell it. Since it’s an old building rooms are not soundproof as you expect. I loved the coffee machine they have in the lobby area.
I checked into the Andrews Hotel on July 13 during my first-ever visit to San Francisco. While the hotel staff at the front desk were kind and welcoming, my overall experience was disappointing and concerning. The hotel is located just 2-3 blocks from the Tenderloin district—a neighborhood that felt extremely unsafe, especially for someone unfamiliar with the area. I saw numerous individuals who appeared to be struggling with addiction, and multiple people advised me not to walk outside after dark. Inside, the experience didn’t improve much. The room was clean but had a strong musty odor that made it uncomfortable to stay in. All of the windows were frosted over, completely blocking any view and giving the space a claustrophobic, almost prison-like feeling. I shared my concerns with the front desk, and while they were understanding and gracious, I decided to check out less than an hour later for my own comfort and peace of mind. I called Expedia to explain the situation, and they kindly reached out to the hotel in hopes of negotiating a full or partial refund. Unfortunately, the hotel refused both. If you're considering staying at the Andrews Hotel, I urge you to be cautious—especially if you're unfamiliar with San Francisco. While the staff were pleasant, the location and room conditions left a lot to be desired. Safety and comfort should never be compromised.
