The Arista Hotel

My recent stay at The Arista in Palembang was truly enjoyable. For a five-star hotel, I found the pricing to be quite reasonable, which was a pleasant surprise. Its location is a major highlight, right in the heart of the city and conveniently located directly across from Palembang Icon Mall. This made exploring and getting around very easy. The room I stayed in was quite spacious, offering plenty of room to relax. I especially appreciated the quality of the in-room amenities, with Sensatia provided for the soap and shampoo, which felt like a nice touch. It's clear they pay attention to the details that make a stay comfortable. The breakfast experience was also fantastic. There was a wide variety of food available, including many delicious local Palembang dishes, various street snacks, and a good selection of other cuisines. It was a great way to start the day and experience some of the local flavors. Overall, I had a very positive experience at The Arista and would recommend it.

I'm updating this review because the hotel is finally able to secure me a non-smoking room. They should always provide this for customers who cannot tolerate the smoke smell. I would rather wait than going to the smoking room. The worst experience ever for a hotel is when they force you to take a smoking room due to availability. Shouldn't you ask for a smoking room while the default is non-smoking? Kinda weird for this to be the "best" hotel in Palembang. I stayed inside for 15 minutes and my throat already aches.

The go to hotel at Palembang. Unfortunately they let you book a party at the pool area and have loud speakers for the party.. guests will have a difficult time resting if this happens.
